The format was quite simple.
A musical repertoire that
included just about everything
that was popular, mixed with a
selection of jokes and humour.
Then in the middle of the
show we would get to do our
"dress-up" comedy set, where
we would take popular songs
and re-write the lyrics to
make them funny.

We started off at the WINSTON HOTEL in Durban and then moved
on to FATHER`S MOUSTACHE (a well known comedy venue on
Durban`s beach front).

Cheers Comedy Showband was formed in 1992.

Originally it was made up of members from two well established
bands, LAMY from GLAM (comedy band who had been resident in
Durban for a number of years) along with COLIN & DANNY from
THE ROCK & ROLL MADHOUSE.

Danny left after a while to pursue a solo career, and was replaced by Nick Williams who had also been
a member of GLAM.

Cheers were resident at "Father`s" till late 1995.
